Need to find a reference material? The AOAC® Technical Division on Reference Materials (TDRM) database provides you with easy access to essential data that can help you in locating reference materials based on analyte or analyte/matrix information.
NOTE: The manufacturer’s certificate is the authoritative resource for all information related to a reference material, and the Official Methods of Analysis (OMA) is the only authoritative resource for information related to a referenced AOAC method. Inclusion of data in this database does not constitute endorsement for the producer or distributor by AOAC TDRM. The user will be responsible for reviewing the certificate to confirm whether a material will suit their needs.

Information for Users
The database includes primarily certified reference materials from NMIs (National Metrology Institutes) and producers who are accredited in accordance with ISO Guide 34. Sometimes informational values are provided for certified materials. In these cases, the boolean field for Certified Value will be “False”. In addition, Proficiency Testing (PT) program materials are being included to show programs where the matrix and analyte may fit the needs of the analyst. (No analyte concentration value will be provided for PT materials.)

Information for Producers
Producers who are accredited in accordance with ISO Guide 34 may submit their data for inclusion in the database. The data must be submitted using one of the templates linked below. For producers who provide the Analyte Identification number for the TDRM database, or the InChi key or CAS #, the data set will be imported at no charge. For producers who need assistance, there is a fee that is based on the number of reference materials. No claim of endorsement by AOAC or AOAC TDRM may be made on the producer documents or web sites. InChi key – This is a unique identifier, based on a structure representation algorithm, used in the Analytes table. For more information: InChi Trust
ToxNet – An outcome of collaboration of several agencies to produce a data resource based on clear identification of chemical compounds related to environmental and public health issues for the purposes of research, toxicological investigation and regulatory interests. It was the basis for development of Pubmed and PubChem. Most of the continuously developing information can be found on one of these sites:

*The analytes in the TDRM RM Database are searchable based on their common description, although there can be many variations. An Advanced Search form is planned that will allow an analyst to use an identifier such as an InChi key, located through another source, to find the analyte in the TDRM RM Database if present.
User Input
On the “User Input” form, accessible from the left menu of the database, users can add information about their experience with the database, enter their suggestions or needs, or list reference material needs that are not available or are not included in the database. Users may include their name and email address if they wish to be contacted. When several users are searching for the same type of reference material, TDRM will share this information with producers, and may subsequently contact the user regarding any questions that arise. Users may also provide feedback or address inquiries by sending an email to aoactdrm@proton.me.

The TDRM RM Database is operated on a volunteer basis, and relies on contributions for operational cost and continued development. If you or your organization is interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact the Database Administrator at aoactdrm@proton.me. A customized invoice can be prepared for your contribution.
All contributions are for the purpose of operations, such as hosting, upgrades and maintenance, or for development. Contributions may be made in any amount and/or dedicated to meeting the cost of a specific database enhancement.
